Forró is the danceable music of the Northeast Brazil interior. Its accordion-generated melody and rapid tempo makes it sound like a cousin of xydeco. This is the traditional music of Saint John's festivals (São João) in June, when the music extends from the country to the cities, and musicians of all genres, like Ivete Sangalo or Gilberto Gil, come out with Forró albums.
